Privacy Policy

My Nearby Pro is operated by Weilin Chang LLC(“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use mynearbypro.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to business owners who claim a free website, to people who book with a business through a page we host, and to visitors who just browse.

The short version. We collect what you type into our forms and a small amount of technical data about your visit. We use it to build and run your page, to contact you, and to measure our advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share limited, hashed identifiers with advertising platforms to measure ads — you can turn that off at Do Not Sell or Share My Info.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you claim a free website: your name, business name, trade or industry, phone number, email address, city, the services and prices you choose to list, any review links you add, and a password (stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it).
When you consent to be contacted: a record of that consent, including the exact wording you agreed to, the version, the time, your IP address and your browser user-agent. This record exists so we can prove consent was given, as telemarketing law requires.
When you call or are called by our AI receptionist: your phone number, what was discussed, and — where the call is recorded — the recording and a transcript. You are told at the start of the call that it is an AI assistant and that the call may be recorded.
When you book an appointment with a business we host: your name, contact details, and the appointment details you provide.
When you buy: your billing details are collected and processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation, the amount, and the last four digits — we never receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and pages viewed.
Cookies we set ourselves: a login session cookie (fd_session), a referral-attribution cookie (fd_ref, fd_sponsor) so an affiliate who referred you gets credited, and a language preference (lang). These are necessary for the site to work.
Advertising and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, where enabled. See section 4.

2. How we use it

To build, host and update your business page and booking system.
To send you your website link, booking notifications, receipts and account email.
To send you onboarding and educational email about getting found online. Every one of these has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is honored immediately.
To call or text you about your account or our services — only if you gave prior express written consent, and never after you opt out.
To take payment and provide the service you paid for.
To measure and improve our own advertising — that is, to learn which ads produced real signups so we stop paying for ones that do not.
To detect fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

3. Service providers we share with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job. None of them is permitted to use your information for their own marketing.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business — in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

4. Advertising, and what we send to ad platforms

We advertise on Google and Meta. To know whether an ad actually produced a signup, we report conversions back to those platforms in two ways:

In your browser, via the Google and Meta tags, which read the advertising cookies described above.
From our server, via Meta’s Conversions API. Before anything leaves our systems, your email address and phone number are irreversibly hashed (SHA-256). We never transmit your email address or phone number in readable form for advertising purposes. The hash lets Meta confirm a match it already has; it cannot be turned back into your details.

Under California law, disclosing identifiers to advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising counts as “sharing”, even though we receive no money for it. You can turn it off at any time — see Do Not Sell or Share My Info. We also honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.

5. Calls, texts and recordings

We place marketing calls and texts only to people who gave prior express written consent, and we keep a record of that consent. Consent is never a condition of buying anything. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.

To stop: reply STOPto any text, say “stop” or “don’t call” on any call, click unsubscribe in any email, or email hello@mynearbypro.com. Opt-outs are applied to our internal do-not-call list and honored on all channels.

Calls handled by our AI receptionist may be recorded. Because California requires all parties to consent to recording, the disclosure is spoken at the beginning of the call, before anything else. If you do not want to be recorded, hang up or ask to be transferred to a person.

6. Your rights

If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), or in another US state with a comparable law, you may request to:

Know what personal information we hold about you and where it came from.
Get a copy of it.
Correct it.
Delete it.
Opt out of sharing for targeted advertising.
Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

Email hello@mynearbypro.com and we will respond within 45 days. We will ask you to verify your identity — usually by replying from the email address on the account — before we act on a request.

7. How long we keep it

Account and business data: while your account is open, and for 12 months after you close it.
Consent and opt-out records: at least 5 years, because telemarketing rules require us to be able to prove them.
Payment records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
Call recordings and transcripts: 12 months, unless we need them longer to resolve a dispute.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on managed infrastructure with access limited to those who need it. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — but if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Children

This is a service for businesses. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email account holders.
